Proposition 65, officially known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, was enacted as a ballot initiative in November 1986 in California. This act requires companies doing business in California to provide specific warnings to Californians about potential significant exposure to a list of chemicals which may cause cancer and/or birth defects or reproductive harm.
Proposition 65 requires California to maintain and update a list of chemicals known to the state to cause cancer or reproductive toxicity. This list, which must be updated minimally once per year, currently includes approximately 900 chemicals.
Fehr Bros has reviewed our product lines and we have determined it is best to provide warnings based on the potential presence of specific chemicals, without attempting to determine the potential exposure levels. We have decided that in the interest of extreme caution, it is best to label all of our products that may contain one or more of the listed products, even though they may be below the level of concern outlined in Proposition 65 or may provide no exposure at all.
Effective immediately, Fehr Bros will be labeling all cartons and unit packaging where there is even the remote possibility it may contain one of the listed chemicals that we have identified. If you have any concerns about our products, we encourage you to contact our product specialists to discuss the item prior to purchase. Prop65 warning labels will be placed on our product packaging as a precaution and do not necessarily represent that the products contents exceed the established "significant risk" level outlined by California.
Prop65 Warning Labels
The warning label attached below is available to download and print. This label should be attached to any Fehr Bros products which are repackaged for sale or display in California. For more information please visit www.P65warnings.ca.gov.
